When Music is Medicine for Kids Coping with Cancer

March 25, 2015 02:22 PM

Board Certified Music Therapist and AMTA member, Betsy Hartman, of Seattle Children's Hospital discusses music therapy services serving children with cancer as part of a PBS Newshour story. AMTA member, Hartman, along with her colleague and fellow music therapist David Knott highlight the history and benefits of music therapy services among children dealing with serious illness. AMTA partnered with Seattle Children's Hospital Foundation as part of AMTA's Wilson Trust Music Therapy Project to expand music therapy services serving children in the Puget Sound area. AMTA is pleased to see the expanded music therapy services in place at Children's so children like Allistaire may benefit from therapy.
