What is AMTA's reflective or self-determined Symposium registration

Many, if not most of us, look for a good deal or how to make our funds last longer. We might look at a workshop, conference or symposium and choose a registration rate based on how much content is of interest. While that is a valid way of shopping, consider thinking differently when registering for the AMTA Symposium

The Symposium registration is a form of “reflective registration” and asks registrants to consider our individual situations within the context of the four (4) categories and information as presented in the AMTA Symposium Rate Guide. Then choose to register at a level that best matches your need and ability to pay.

In the spirit of transparency the symposium was created to provide a service to support the education, connections and growth of the music therapy community. Rates have been set with consideration of financial accessibility for all. The symposium is intended to generate income for the American Music Therapy Association and will be applied to our operating budget as we move forward with the process of re-imagining our organization.

Thanks to the Anne Emory Kyllo Fund, 42 scholarships have been distributed to professionals in need. We now have a waitlist if more scholarship funds are made available.  More information is available at the registration portal

I welcome any questions about reflective registration and look forward to seeing you at the symposium.
