Title Protection for Music Therapy Bill Signed in California
The American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) and the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) are excited to announce that on July 31, 2019 Governor Newsom of California signed into law AB 1540, legislation that establishes title protection for music therapy. Many thanks to the current members of the California Task Force for their work, dedication, and advocacy for this legislation, as well as to those who have served previously for paving the road to this accomplishment. We appreciate the expertise and support of the legislative consultants at Public Policy, LLC and of bill sponsor Assemblyman Chris Holden. Congratulations California music therapists!
