Registration is now open for the 2024 AMTA Online Symposium, September 22-25, 2024

The American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) is hosting the 3rd Annual Online Symposium designed to provide high-quality and informative content for music therapists in the USA and abroad. Over the 4-day symposium both live and asynchronous sessions are provided with the potential of up to 36 pre-approved CMTEs including ethics.  All registrants will have access to the recorded sessions through February 28, 2025. The preliminary program is available at the Registration portal.

This year’s keynote speaker is Amelia Nagoski, DMA presenting on Burnout: What To Do When You’re Overwhelmed and Exhausted About Everything You Have to Do and Still Worry That You’re Not Doing Enough.  She is the co-author, with her sister Emily, of the New York Times best selling book Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle and the Burnout workbook. Dr. Nagoski describes her job as the person who runs around waving her arms and making funny noises and generally doing whatever it takes to help singers get in touch with their internal experience.  She lives in New England with her husband and two rescue dogs.

Registration process and benefits

All sessions, including extended access to the recorded sessions, are included in the registration fee. AMTA is offering four (4) self-determined registration levels. Registrants are encouraged to reflect on the categories and information presented and register at a level that best matches their needs and ability to pay. Thanks to the Shirley Murray Fund, 30 scholarships are available for professionals in need on a first come, first served basis. More information is available at the registration portal

We look forward to seeing you at the Symposium.

Jennifer Sokira, MMT, LCAT, MT-BC

AMTA Vice President
