The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law by George H.W. Bush 30 years ago, on July 26, 1990. The ADA was written to ensure that those living with disabilities are afforded the same rights and access as all people.

On June 1st, AMTA, and over 400 other disparate organizations including the NAACP and the Center for Reproductive Rights, signed on to the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights letter addressed to congressional leadership in support of the demand for actionable federal policing policies.

As many music therapists transition back to providing services during this COVID-19 experience, AMTA recognizes that the workplace will look and feel differently. One factor in these differences may include grief.

Performer and American Music Therapy Association Spokesperson Robin Spielberg was featured in a new digital series, "FPAC Live," from the Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center at the University of Arkansas on May 19. Robin speaks about how she thinks music therapy and other types of music can provide comfort and add to our community. The event was recorded and posted to the Faulkner Center homepage.
