the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has published a funding opportunity announcement (FOA) to solicit applications for: Research Networks to Promote Multidisciplinary Mechanistic Studies on Music-Based Interventions for Pain or Alzheimer’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease Related Dementias (AD/ADRD) (U24 Clinical Trial Optional). Please refer to FOA: RFA-AT-23-006 for more information. The application deadline for this opportunity is January 10, 2023.

The AMTA Workforce Development and Retention Committee is pleased to make available our survey results from one of our assigned goals from the board of directors to collect information regarding the music therapy workforce and create a retention plan.
 
The next AMTA Board of Directors Meeting will take place on October 25th, 8:00-9:30 pm ET. As with the past few BOD and Assembly meetings, this meeting will be open and accessible to everyone in the music therapy community.

Carol Collins 1927 – 2022 It is with deep sadness that we share the death of Carol Collins, a beloved music therapy pioneer and educator. She was one of the first music therapy interns to train with Dr. Ira Altshuler during the late 1940’s at Eloise Hospital (later named Wayne County General Hospital and Infirmary) in Detroit, Michigan.
