The American Music Therapy Association invites applicants for four new Associate Editor positions. Two Associate Editors will be appointed to the Journal of Music Therapy (JMT) and two to Music Therapy Perspectives (MTP).

To give members the opportunity to interact with the candidates for the office of President Elect and Vice President Elect, the Nominating Committee is pilot testing a project whereby a question and candidates’ responses are posted on the website. The following questions are the last in the series for this fall. Questions and responses will remain on the website until after the election.

Candidates’ Biographical Summaries & Responses to Questions about Elected Positions & the music therapy profession may be found here. All current 2015 Professional, Retired & Honorary Life AMTA members should be prepared to vote as usual via the USPS. Your ballot will be mailed on 11/10/15 so expect to see it in your mailbox within a week of that date. Your completed ballot must be enclosed in the official ballot envelope and postmarked on or before 12/10/15. No exceptions will be made.

On Friday November 13 in the AMTA Village in the Exhibit Hall, there will be an opportunity for student and professional AMTA members to meet music therapists who have distinguished careers. If you are attending a CMTE, special training, or institute at conference in November, please bring a mobile device along with you. We are going paperless this year for Course Evaluations and Certificates of Completion.

AMTA’s artist spokesperson, Robin Spielberg, presented “Music & Wellness” as part of the Mayo Clinic Healthcare System Arts and Medicine program on October 1, 2015. Robin performed a variety of her compositions and spoke eloquently about music and music therapy.
