Music Therapy Featured at the Kennedy Center

Save the Dates for “Sound Health: Music and the Mind”

Mark your calendars for a major national event made possible by a partnership between the Kennedy Center, Renée Fleming who is artistic advisor at large for the Kennedy Center, and the National Institutes of Health. This exciting event, “Sound Health: Music and the Mind,” will be held at the Kennedy Center, June 2-3.  A Friday night concert with the National Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Edwin Outwater, alongside renowned neuroscientists Daniel Levitin and Charles Limb, kicks-off the weekend.

Saturday will feature a full day of sessions with interactive presentations and shows focusing on music and child development, music therapy, healthy aging, and improvisation. These ticketed events will be open to the general public. Watch the video about this important partnership and event.

Ticket prices will be:

  • Friday night concert with the National Symphony Orchestra: $39
  • Saturday Family Theater presentations (including the music therapy session curated by Dr. Sheri Robb): $20
