Help Colorado State University Preserve Music Therapy History!

February 14, 2024 07:20 PM
AMTA_Archives_Fundraising_(1)

As many know, our AMTA Archives is housed at Colorado State University. A scrapbook with mold damage was donated to CSU as part of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) special archive collection. The donor received the scrapbook from Florence Tyson (a music therapist in New York from 1958 and 1995). The scrapbook contains materials from the late 1800s to early 1900s connected with Eva Vescellius, who is noted for publishing Music & Health, the first journal dedicated to music therapy in the US. The Archive is seeking funds for preservation and digitalization.

We have a goal of $4,500 based on the cost of mold remediation and digitization of this scrapbook. The freezer this scrapbook is in will no longer be available past March 1, 2024, so time is of the essence, and we need your immediate support to help save and preserve it.

All donations to this project benefit the Music Therapy Community Outreach fund.  See this link for photos, further information and the link to donate:
