The AMTA Board of Directors’ 2017 Mid-Year meeting will be held May 31, 2017 through June 2; and June 4 through 5, 2017 at the Maritime Institute & Conference Center next to the Baltimore Washington International (BWI) airport.
Bi-annual Meeting of the AMTA Board of Directors
The AMTA Board of Directors’ 2017 Mid-Year meeting will be held May 31, 2017 through June 2; and June 4 through 5, 2017 at the Maritime Institute & Conference Center next to the Baltimore Washington International (BWI) airport. Meeting times are approximate; unfortunately, it is impossible to predict exact times for agenda items, especially the mid-day breaks and later agenda items. The meeting officially begins at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, May 31st and runs until 8:30 pm. On Thursday, June 1st, the meeting begins at 9:00 am, breaking for lunch and an Executive Session from 12:30 pm through 2:30 pm, continuing from 2:30 pm through an hour dinner break from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm and continuing for a final hour from 7:00 pm through 8:00 pm. On Friday the 2nd of June, the meeting begins at 9:00 am, breaking for lunch from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, continuing from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
From the evening of Friday, June 2nd through all day on Saturday, June 3rd, the AMTA Board of Directors will be attending a special weekend celebration sponsored by the Kennedy Center & NIH, “Music and the Mind,” including an NSO concert on Friday evening at 8:00 pm and on Saturday, four workshops from 11:00 am through 10:00 pm. The Music Therapy workshop is being presented from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 3rd. Please see the Kennedy Center box office for tickets for these events.
The Board meeting will resume on Sunday, June 4th, beginning at 11:00 am and ending at 5:00 pm. The final day, June 5th, begins at 9:00 am and will adjourn at 11:30 am.

AMTA Board of Directors’ meetings are open to AMTA members and members of the general public with the exception of when the Board is in “Executive Session” per Robert’s Rules of Order. If any members are interested in attending the meeting at the Maritime Institute, please RSVP to Dianne Wawrzusin, Wawrzusin@musictherapy.org on or before Monday, May 22nd so that meeting room arrangements can be made.
