KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Announcing Amelia Nagoski keynote speaker for the 2024 AMTA Symposium

Amelia Nagoski, DMA will be speaking on What To Do When You’re Overwhelmed and Exhausted About Everything You Have to Do and Still Worry That You’re Not Doing Enough a topic all music therapists and students of music therapy can likely relate. She is the co-author, with her sister Emily, of the New York Times best selling book Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle and the Burnout Workbook. Amelia has a DMA in conducting with experience as a conductor and music professor. In these jobs her responsibilities include running around waving her arms and making funny noises, and generally doing whatever it takes to help singers get intouch with their internal experience. In her teaching, performing and writing, she focuses on the connections between art and the experience of being alive in the world, with the expectation that understanding music can help us understand ourselves and each other.  She lives in New England with her husband and two rescue dogs.

The Keynote Presentation is generously sponsored by Liquid Mind

CONFERENCE SPONSOR

Many Thanks to Chuck Wild and Liquid Mind Music for his generous sponsorship of this year’s symposium. Not only has his contribution supported our keynote, it allowed for more scholarships for music therapy professionals in need. We had an extensive waitlist after announcing the scholarship in August and have been able to release funds to 90 more professionals.

I look forward to learning with and seeing you during the symposium. Register here
